How to Obtain What We Produce (see more at bottom)

Grape Cuttings
Cuttings sales has ended for the 2006-2007 dormant season! Stop back in the Fall.

The vineyard is home to small numbers of many grape varieties (~235 as of 5/07). Below is a list of what is currently available for sale as cuttings. If you see something you are interested in, please visit the welcome page and use the email address provided in the spam blocker graphic to contact us. Note that we don't ship grapes to the west coast (ID, WA, OR, or CA) because of quarantine issues. See the disclaimer at the bottom for disease and insect status.

You can navigate to information on how to get grapes at the bottom of the page.

Type: 12-16" cuttings of 1-year wood with 3 or more buds per cutting
Amount: 50 cents per cutting
Orientation cuts: square cut end is the rooting end, angled cut end is up
Date Taken: as ordered
Treatment: Cuttings are taken and immediately placed with their rooting end in cold water. Storage is in water at 32F until shipping time.
Disease/Insect Information: While the parent vines of these cuttings show excellent vigor and fungus and insect effects typical for Virginia during the growing season, no guarantee of the disease- or insect-free nature of these cuttings can be made. If you are concerned about importing diseases or insects into an existing vineyard then you should consider purchasing your stock from a certified disease- and insect-free producer. I use standard insecticides and fungicides following recommended schedules.
Shipping Condition: Cuttings are wrapped in moist newspaper then sealed in a plastic bag for shipping. The cuttings should be stored as-shipped in your refrigerator until it is time to root them.
Rooting instructions: You can stick them with the square end into moist soil 1/2-2/3 their length in March and a majority should root. More complex instructions can be found online.
